"Meta-location" HTTP header

HERM is a proposal by Roger L. Costello, David B. Jacobs and Amy L. Kazura to add two headers to HTTP:

Without having thought about it too much, it looks interesting. It is simple, so not very expensive, and it would fit very well with the photos on this site, each of which has associated meta-data with its own URL.

It wouldn't work for other protocols than HTTP (such as SMTP or FTP), of course. Although when the documents are HTML, you could put the HTTP headers inside the document instead, by means of <META> elements.
